Post-election violence incidents have begun in West Bengal. In the Bamangheri area of Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas district, miscreants attacked police and central security forces who were on patrol on Wednesday night. The attackers opened fire, injuring five security personnel.
Among the injured are the Officer-in-Charge of Nazat police station, a constable, a woman police officer, and two personnel from the central forces. In the past 24 hours, four people have been killed in different parts of the state, including two BJP and two TMC workers.
The BJP has alleged that its two workers were killed by TMC in New Town in North 24 Parganas and Uday Narayanpur in Howrah. The TMC has also alleged that two of its party members were killed in Beleghata in Kolkata and Nanoor in Birbhum.
In Kolkata’s New Market area, a mob demolished a TMC party office using a bulldozer. The attackers also damaged nearby shops. The TMC shared a video of the incident on X, stating that BJP’s “parivartan” (change) has arrived and it has brought bulldozers with it.

Congress extends support Vijay to form govt in Tamil Nadu

In Tamil Nadu, Congress has decided to support TVK chief Vijay. According to sources, a late-night emergency meeting of the Tamil Nadu Congress Political Affairs Committee (PAC) was held on Tuesday, where the decision to support Vijay was taken unanimously.
The meeting was held online, and several senior leaders from Delhi also participated. Congress said that the mandate of Tamil Nadu is in favour of a secular government, and the party will not allow the BJP or its allies to come to power under any circumstances.
Earlier, Vijay had sought Congress support to form the government. In the 234-member assembly, TVK has won 108 seats and needs 10 more MLAs for a majority. Congress has 5 MLAs, while PMK has 4. CPI and CPI(M) have won 2 seats each. DMK has won 59 seats and AIADMK 47 seats.
