This is what Mohammad Imran, a resident of Khoda in Ghaziabad, says. On May 28, on the day of Bakrid, Asad (20), along with his friends, stabbed and murdered Surya Pratap Singh ‘Surya’ (17), a class 11 student. On Sunday, the police killed Asad in an encounter.
When the ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ team reached the spot, they found that there was only a 300-meter distance between Surya’s and the main accused Asad’s homes. While there was mourning at Surya’s house, Asad’s house was found locked. Police from 8 stations are deployed within a one-kilometer radius. RRF personnel are patrolling the area.
Asad’s father, Nawab, along with 3 accused, has been arrested and sent to jail. One accused is still absconding. Surya’s mother said that the fate that befell Asad should also befall all the accused.
Local people fear that the police might kill the other accused in an encounter. Therefore, they are avoiding speaking openly. They were not even ready to point out the houses of the accused.

Ikramuddin said – What Asad did, the same happened to him
We met Ikramuddin nearby. He said, we were busy at our home on Bakrid that day. Curtains were put up outside the house. That’s why I couldn’t see the murder happening.
On the question of Asad’s encounter, Ikramuddin said, Surya’s mother’s demand was that there should be an encounter. She had said that blood should be avenged with blood. That’s why Asad’s encounter happened.

We spoke to Surya’s mother. She said that after my son’s death, even the tears have dried up from my eyes. Elder son Yash himself remains ill.
Younger Surya was killed. In this incident, the police killed Asad. Three have been caught. One is still absconding. The police should encounter all the murderers.

Apart from this, silence prevailed in all other lanes. Khoda has a 75 percent Hindu population, while 25 percent are Muslims.
Accused Farhan told policemen – I had given the knife to kill Surya
The accused Farhan is in the red circle. He has confessed to giving the knife to kill Surya.
The arrested accused Farhan told police during interrogation that I was friends with Atiq, Sarik, Asad, and Surya. On May 28, around 3 pm in the afternoon, Asad had a fight with Surya over riding a bike.
Asad had told this to his father, Nawab, and me. Then we made a plan to teach Surya a lesson, and half an hour later, at 3:30 pm, we cornered Surya in Navneet Vihar lane number 4. I gave the knife to Asad, and Asad’s father said finish his story today.
Then Asad stabbed Surya in the stomach. When Surya fell down covered in blood, we all thought he was dead and left from there.
On Sunday too, workers associated with Hindu organizations reached Surya Chauhan’s house. They raised slogans and demanded encounter of the accused.
SP spokesperson said- Surya had a relationship with Asad’s sister
- SP spokesperson Ameeq Jamei wrote on X, Asad was encountered, and Surya’s family got the justice they deserved. Asad and Surya were friends, living in the same lane. Surya was friendly with Asad’s sister, which Asad did not like, and this was the reason for the dispute between them.Due to this dispute, Asad’s family changed their neighborhood, but the friendship continued. The dispute escalated over this issue, and Surya was murdered.
