In Morena, a woman died after drowning in a swamp. This swamp was formed due to accumulation of filth and water on land acquired for a government park. The land is located in Bismil Nagar lane, directly opposite the residence of Madhya Pradesh’s Agriculture Minister Adal Singh Kansana. The distance from Kansana’s bungalow is merely 200 meters.
The incident occurred on Sunday night around 9:30 PM. The SDERF team conducted a 3-hour rescue operation, after which the body could be retrieved late at night around 12:30 AM. The woman’s identity has not yet been established.
Local residents informed that when this colony was built, the land was given for constructing a park. The park was to be built by the municipal corporation.
The woman was wearing a new green salwar suit with stars embroidered on it. Eyewitness Balli Gurjar stated that the woman came running and sat hidden behind a tree. After some time, she fell into the water-filled swamp.
When people heard the noise, they reached there. A long bamboo pole was extended towards the woman to pull her out of the swamp. But the woman could not hold it. Gradually she moved away from the bamboo and finally drowned in the swamp.

The SDERF team was able to retrieve the woman’s body from the swamp after 3 hours.
SDERF conducted rescue in the light of Thar
The place where this swamp is located has the main electricity line passing through it for the colony. During the rescue, there was a risk of electric current spreading in the water, so the electricity supply to the area was shut down. Due to darkness, a local citizen’s Thar was called. Taking support of its headlight, SDERF completed the rescue operation.

The swamp has formed due to accumulation of dirt and water on government land of the park.
Commissioner says – I have no information about the park
Civil Line police station in-charge Udaybhan Yadav said- A case has been registered and the body has been kept in the mortuary. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased by searching missing reports in nearby police stations.
Meanwhile, according to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Satendra Singh Dhakare, he was not aware that a park was to be built there. If this is the case, then the swamp will be eliminated and it will be developed. On the other hand, when Municipal Corporation Mayor Sharda Solanki was contacted, she did not answer Dainik Bhaskar’s call.
