On Friday, the weather changed in more than 20 districts, while on Saturday, an alert was issued for strong winds and rain in 13 districts.
The districts for which a warning has been issued on Saturday include Narmadapuram, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Anuppur, Umaria, Shahdol, Sidhi, and Singrauli.
Earlier on Friday, intense heat was experienced in some places while storms and rain occurred in others.
Strong winds in some areas and light rain in others were witnessed in Seoni, Chhindwara, Raisen, Sagar, Damoh, Balaghat, Bhopal, Dewas, Khargone, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Tikamgarh, Ashok Nagar, Shivpuri, Betul, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Pandhurna, Dindori, and Anuppur.
Meanwhile, the effect of heat was observed in several districts during the day. Due to this, the temperature in Ratlam reached 43.5 degrees Celsius. It was 42.6 degrees in Shajapur.
Among the five major cities, the temperature was recorded at 42.4 degrees in Ujjain, 41.2 degrees in Indore-Bhopal, 38.8 degrees in Jabalpur, and 37.5 degrees Celsius in Gwalior.
Rainfall spell in May so far
According to IMD (Weather Center), Bhopal, this time the weather in the state has been changing since the first day of May itself.
Generally, there is an effect of intense heat in the beginning, but this time there has been weather with strong storms and rain in some places and hailstorms in others. Such weather occurred due to cyclones, troughs, and western disturbances.
Mercury will rise by 3 to 4 degrees
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain on Saturday as well, but after this, the day temperature will rise rapidly. On Sunday, the mercury may rise by 3 to 4 degrees in most cities.
Meteorological Department’s advice to take precautions
The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay in safe places during lightning and storms. Avoid standing under trees or near electric poles.
If in an open field, immediately take shelter in a concrete building. Concerns are also being raised about damage to crops from this unseasonal rain and hailstorm.
