With this, he recently took oath as an MLC and retained his ministerial post. Along with Azharuddin, Kodandaram also took oath as an MLC.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and several ministers were present at the swearing-in ceremony held in the council. The Telangana government issued orders on Sunday appointing Mohammed Azharuddin and Kodandaram as MLCs in the Governor’s quota. The General Administration Department issued a gazette notification on the orders of Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.

Azharuddin thanked the Congress party high command, the state cabinet and the PCC for nominating his name as an MLC. He reminded that the Revanth Reddy government is giving great priority to the welfare of minorities in the state. He said that he will work harder for the welfare of minorities.He said that there is no truth in the claim that he was given the ministerial post in the Jubilee Hills by-election only for the votes of Muslims. He said that CM Revanth Reddy has been giving priority to minorities from the beginning. On this occasion, Azharuddin gave special thanks to Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjuna Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi and CM Revanth Reddy. He said that he has many cricket fans. That is why he will increase his political fans.
