Student was climbing the boundary wall to pick up his slipper

The incident occurred at around 6 pm on Friday. The injured teenager, identified as 17-year-old Tattoo, son of Balram, was playing with friends when they threw his slipper to the other side of the CISF boundary wall as part of the game.

As he attempted to climb over the wall to retrieve the slipper, he lost balance. A sharp iron angle fixed on the wall pierced through his jaw and came out from inside his mouth. After the accident, the children raised an alarm, following which family members and local residents rushed to the spot.

Could be cut with cutter only after half an hour of effort

Locals who reached the spot did not attempt to pull the injured boy away forcefully. After nearly 30 minutes of effort, the iron angle was finally cut using a cutter machine. Tattoo was then taken to Barwah Civil Hospital along with the piece of iron still stuck in his jaw.

After primary treatment, doctors referred him to Indore considering his critical condition.

Doctor said – pulling the angle iron could have cost his life

Barwah Civil Hospital in-charge Dr. Yashwant Ingla said it was fortunate that the family and locals brought the teenager to hospital with the iron rod still lodged in his neck and jaw.

He said that if anyone had tried to pull the rod out at the spot, the excessive bleeding could have proved fatal. According to the doctor, the iron angle had penetrated nearly five inches into the upper part of the neck, due to which he was referred to Indore after primary treatment.
