On Saturday night in Bhopal, intoxicated youths allegedly created chaos by driving a speeding car that rammed into a police personnel, pedestrians, roadside vendors, and several vehicles. The car continued its rampage for nearly 10 to 12 kilometres before the accused fled the scene. Six people were injured in the incident.
Police from three different police stations jointly chased the vehicle. After a pursuit of around 10–12 kilometres, the accused were cornered near the Meenal area. Following the incident, an angry crowd surrounded the accused and assaulted them. Thousands of people gathered at the spot, and the situation briefly turned tense and difficult to control. Police managed to safely detain two accused, while others are suspected to have escaped.
On Sunday, Bajaria police station in-charge Shilpa Kaurav said that around six injured persons have come forward so far. Two of them were brought to the police, while others are receiving treatment at different locations. In addition, around four to five vehicles, including carts and bicycles, were damaged in the incident.
Police have arrested two accused and taken them on remand. Investigation has revealed that the youths were returning after celebrating a friend’s birthday party.

Car owner’s father is posted in police department
Initially, the car was being driven by its owner Aditya Hariyal, but later near the station, he handed it over to another youth, Sarva Dubey, who allegedly drove it recklessly and caused the incident.
An important detail has also emerged that the car owner Aditya Hariyal’s father is employed in the police department. Preliminary information suggests that his father Narendra Hariyal is posted as a Head Constable in the Lokayukta.
During the incident, the car reportedly had the word “Police” written on it, which also created confusion among the public. Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the entire case.
