According to sources, the NIA officials reached the hospital to collect crucial medical records and related information concerning the accused and his associate, who were initially brought there following the blast. 

The agency is focusing on the use of RDX in the explosion and checking whether it was part of a larger criminal operation, sources added.

The central agency is closely examining the sequence of events immediately after the explosion, including the medical response and the condition of the injured suspects upon arrival at the hospital. 

Officials are also likely to interact with attending doctors and hospital authorities to gather detailed inputs that could aid the investigation.

Notably, the explosion took place on January 27 at Azadnagar area in Sundarpada leave four people critically injured.

The injured, Shahnawaz Malik, his mother, his friend Amiya Ranjan Mallick and another female friend, were rushed to Capital Hospital in a critical condition. They were later shifted to a private hospital.

The Azadnagar blast has raised serious security concerns, prompting the involvement of the NIA to ascertain the nature of the incident, possible links, and any broader conspiracy. The agency has intensified its probe over the past few days, collecting evidence from multiple locations.

Sources in the police said multiple criminal cases are pending against Malik in Nayapalli, Maitri Vihar and Khandagiri police limits.

Further investigation is underway, and officials have indicated that more developments are expected as the probe progresses.
