Himachal Weather: Clouds will rain in Himachal for five consecutive days, orange alert of hailstorm in many districts

There are chances of weather worsening in Himachal Pradesh. Rain is forecast for five consecutive days in many parts of the state. There is a possibility of snowfall on the peaks during this period. An orange alert of hailstorm has been issued in many districts on May 4. Today there is light cloudy sky with sunshine in the capital Shimla and surrounding parts. There may be light rain at some places today. During the last 24 hours, 0.4 millimetres of rain was recorded in Sarahan at 18.5, Sangla at 2.4, Siobag at 2.2, Wangtu at 1.0 Kalpa. 

The concern of farmers and gardeners increased
 On the other hand, due to heavy hailstorm in the Pachhad area of district Sirmaur on Thursday night, standing cash crops including wheat, barley and fruit orchards have suffered huge damage. These days, the wheat and barley crops in the area were completely ripe and the harvesting phase was about to begin, but the blow of nature mixed the golden crop with the soil. New seedlings of recently planted tomatoes and capsicum have also fallen victim to hailstorm. Fruits and plants on the area’s main fruit plums, apricots, and peach trees have been heavily damaged by hail. Now the concern of farmers has increased further.

According to Maisam Vigyan Kendra Shimla, due to the activity of Western Disturbance, rain is forecast in the state from 3 to 7 May. There is a possibility of snowfall on the peaks during this period. The weather is expected to remain bad in some places on May 8 also. On May 4, there is an orange alert of hailstorm and winds reaching 40-50 km per hour in many districts of the state. Yellow alert has been issued for 3 and 5 May. There is an alert of thunderstorm and hailstorm in Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmair districts on 4th May. 

Where and what is the minimum temperature
Shimla recorded minimum temperature of 13.5, Sundernagar 16.3, Bhuntar 13.2, Kalpa 6.2, Una 18.8, Nahan 18.1, Palpamur 16.5, Solan 15.6, Manali 9.5, Kangra 18.3, Mandi 17.7, Bilaspur 18.5, Jubbarhatti 16.4, Kukumseri 5.4, Seubagh 9.0, Barathi 15.6, Paonta Sahib 21.0, Sarahan 10.1, Dehragopipur 21.0 and Tabo 4.9 °C. On Friday, Una recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees. At the same time, there is no possibility of any major change in the minimum temperature in many parts of the state during the next 24 hours. Subsequently, the minimum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 °C in many parts of the state during the next 3-4 days. Similarly, maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 3-4 degrees Celsius in many parts of the state.

This will be the case in May, the number of heat wave days is likely to be more than normal
According to the probable forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of above normal rainfall in most parts of Himachal Pradesh in May. The average maximum temperature is very likely to be normal or below normal in many parts of the lower hills, plains and central hilly areas of Himachal during May. At the same time, it is likely to be higher than normal in many parts of the high hills of Himachal and the central hilly areas adjacent to them. The number of heat wave days in the central and lower hilly/plain areas of the state during May is likely to be higher than normal compared to the long-term average.
