Vote counting is underway across 293 seats in West Bengal, with polling in one seat (Falta) scheduled for 21 May.
BJP has gained a majority lead in West Bengal trends and is inching towards 200 mark. BJP have already won 4 seats and are leading on 194, TMC has won 1 seat and leading 88, Congress is at 1, Left Front is at 2 and Others is at 2.
So far, till 3 pm, the BJP is estimated to have over 45% of the vote share, compared to 40.83% for the TMC. PM Modi is set to visit BJP headquarters at 6 pm today in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, violence and clashes were reported at four locations across the state during counting. In Asansol, a TMC office camp was vandalised, while in Jamuria, a party office was set on fire. In Cooch Behar, security forces resorted to a lathi charge.
Mamata Banerjee is leading in Bhabanipur, while Suvendu is trailing. RG Kar’s rape victim’s mother is ahead in Panihati. In the area where PM Narendra Modi had stopped to eat jhalmuri, the BJP is leading in all four seats, Jhargram, Binpur, Gopiballavpur and Nayagram.
Compared to 2021, the BJP’s vote share appears to be nearly 6% higher this time. According to the Election Commission, the party is currently polling around 45% and is projected to gain around 115 more seats than in the previous election.
Earlier in the day, ahead of counting in West Bengal, a clash broke out at around 6:30 am outside Sakhawat Memorial School in Bhabanipur between TMC and BJP agents. Vote counting for the constituency will take place at this centre.
