Rajasthan remains in the grip of intense heat and heatwave conditions, with the state recording the highest temperature in the country for the fourth consecutive day. Jaisalmer was the hottest place on Thursday at 46.1°C, after Barmer topped the list for the previous three days.
The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur has issued a red alert for heatwave conditions in four districts and a warning for 13 districts. Meanwhile, a Western Disturbance brought cloudy skies to more than eight districts in the Bikaner and Jaipur divisions on Wednesday, with several areas witnessing dust storms, light rain, and hailstorms. Sriganganagar also experienced a sandstorm in the afternoon.

- 2-day severe heat warning: Today, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer are on red alert for heat. The Meteorological Department has issued this alert for the second consecutive day this season. Its effect will also remain in three districts tomorrow.

Jaipur: The capital witnessed intense heat on Wednesday, with the maximum temperature reaching 43.8°C and hot winds blowing throughout the day. However, the weather changed by evening as cloudy skies, dust storms, and drizzle brought some relief.
Sikar: After four days of severe heat and humidity, the weather changed on Wednesday evening with rain and strong winds. Trees fell in several colonies, over half an inch of rain was recorded in 20 minutes, and the maximum temperature dropped by around 2.5 degrees.
Udaipur: The intense heat spell continued in the Lake City, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.4°C and the minimum at 26°C on Wednesday. On May 12, the city had recorded a maximum of 43.1°C.
Alwar: The city remained under intense heat till afternoon, with temperatures around 40°C, before dense clouds and a dust storm hit in the evening. In Machadi village, an electric pole collapsed due to strong winds.
Kota: Residents faced scorching heat and hot winds on Wednesday. The maximum temperature was recorded at 44.8°C and the minimum at 28°C. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions.
Ajmer: People struggled with scorching sun and hot winds on Wednesday as the maximum temperature touched 43.1°C and the minimum settled at 28.4°C.
Jodhpur: The city recorded a maximum temperature of 44°C, with no immediate relief from the heat in sight. The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for the next two days, while Jodhpur remains under red alert for Thursday.
