The NEET paper leak case has exposed the dark side of Sikar’s coaching hub, where students allegedly formed groups to sell the paper even before it arrived. During the process, the paper reached a counsellor and later went viral. A student from a family in Jamwaramgarh was also involved and is being questioned by the CBI, which is probing both the viral chain and the money trail.
So far, no student has been arrested for circulating the paper. On the night of May 3 in Sikar, a coaching teacher and a PG operator who reached the police station were found carrying the viral ‘guess paper,’ in which 125 of the 180 questions matched the original NEET paper.
Investigators first identified a student from Jamwaramgarh, Jaipur, who had allegedly informed friends in advance that the paper would arrive. Along with his associates, he reportedly began searching for buyers and initially offered the paper for ₹10 lakh.
Students connected in social media groups
Students who wanted the paper were in contact on social media. After discussing the purchase of the paper, they had also created groups. Their secret was exposed when students who received the paper posted it in another group.
Besides the student residing in Jamwaramgarh, counselor Rakesh Kumar was also selling the paper. It is said that students themselves had sought him out. They met him to collect money. A large number of students are connected in his group.
Students preparing for two or more years
It has also come to light that among those ready to buy the paper, the number of students who have been studying in Sikar’s coaching centers for two or more years is higher. The CBI is engaged in identifying those students who accepted money in exchange for the paper.
Students demand fairness amid NEET paper leak row
- 22-23 lakh medical aspirants and their families are stressed due to the NEET cancellation. Students say that after months of preparation, travel, coaching, and living expenses, there is pressure to take the exam again.
- Children say that aspirants across the country are being punished for the mistakes of a few people. Many students expressed apprehension that re-examination would affect the results.
- Re-examination will affect the entire session, including counseling and admissions.
Considering CBT, hybrid model for exams
According to sources, NTA is now discussing Computer Based Test (CBT) and hybrid models, so that there is no possibility of leakage during paper printing and transport. {The petition filed in the Supreme Court also demanded a ‘digital locking system’. In this, the question papers will remain in encrypted form till the end.
Along with this, the petition demands the creation of an independent system like the National Examination Integrity Commission (NEIC).
Trust in NTA lost, examination should be under court supervision

The NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case reached the Supreme Court on Wednesday, where the Federation of All India Medical Associations filed a petition seeking a re-exam under the court’s supervision, saying students have lost faith in the NTA.
The petition also demanded either the dissolution or complete restructuring of the NTA, replacing it with a more technically competent and autonomous agency. It stated that over 100 questions from “guess papers” circulated on Telegram and WhatsApp matched the actual exam paper.
Rajasthan SOG has claimed the viral paper contained more than 125 matching questions, including 35 from Chemistry and 90 from Biology. The petitioners have also sought a monitoring committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge, along with cybersecurity and forensic experts.
