Vinesh is set to arrive today to participate in the Gonda Senior National Open Wrestling Championship. It’s worth noting that she had visited Gonda on Monday to complete the verification process. However, when Vinesh reached the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) training centre at 4:00 PM, she found it closed.
Following this, Vinesh called WFI President Sanjay Singh right in front of the media personnel present, but the line remained busy. When a Bhaskar reporter asked what the issue was, Vinesh retorted, “What difference does it make to these shameless people, no matter what problems we face?”
Vinesh Phogat arrived at the training centre on Monday
Vinesh stated, “I have come to Gonda to compete. I had registered for this event as early as April 27. The WFI President wants me to quit wrestling, to give up. I have received two show-cause notices. I have submitted a brief response, but they are demanding the detailed, 14-day response immediately.”
Vinesh added, “We still have plenty of time. This notice was issued deliberately, just two days before I am scheduled to compete.” Vinesh reiterated that she has already responded to the notice and noted, “I am scheduled to compete on Tuesday. Lord Ram has blessed me.”
According to the WFI, Vinesh Phogat cannot participate in the competition today under any circumstances. The WFI has clarified that a ban on Vinesh’s participation in sporting competitions remains in effect, and a notice has been issued to her by the Wrestling Federation of India.

Vinesh remarked, “No matter what problems we face, what difference does it make to these shameless people?”

Vinesh had arrived at the training centre at 4:00 PM on Monday. The centre was closed. Subsequently, she spoke with several officials.
WFI president states: Vinesh cannot participate in any competition
Strict security arrangements have been put in place at the Nandini Nagar Sports Stadium in anticipation of Vinesh Phogat’s arrival. WFI President Sanjay Singh stated that she cannot participate in any competition today. He clarified that the committee would take a decision regarding future steps only after receiving her response. Sanjay Singh also added that if Vinesh Phogat is visiting merely to watch the matches, she is welcome to do so; as a wrestler, there are no restrictions on her entry, but she cannot take part in the competition itself. On the final day of the competition, the remaining Greco-Roman wrestling finals are scheduled to conclude by 11:00 AM. Immediately thereafter, the women’s wrestling events will commence, featuring the participation of over 500 female wrestlers across various weight categories.
WFI sought response from Vinesh Phogat on the 15-point notice
Wrestler Vinesh Phogat had expressed her intention to compete in these women’s wrestling events. She arrived in Gonda yesterday and had stated on Tuesday that she would be participating in the competition once again. However, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has already clarified that a decision regarding the 15 specific points on which a notice was issued, seeking an explanation from Vinesh Phogat, will be taken by a designated committee. She will be eligible to participate in future competitions only upon providing a satisfactory response to this notice.
