A new development has emerged in the alleged murder of Ketan Agrawal in Pune. The security guard at Lohagad Fort, where Ketan is alleged to have been pushed, said he heard Siya Goyal screaming for help.
According to guard Dheeraj Jadhav, he rushed to the spot after hearing screams and found Siya Goyal, one of the accused, calling for assistance. “When I asked what had happened, she said someone had fallen from the fort,” Jadhav said, adding that he immediately informed the police.
Meanwhile, Siya Goyal’s mother, Pooja Goyal, said that whoever is found guilty should receive the strictest punishment. “If my daughter is guilty, she should also be thrown from the same spot from which Ketan was pushed,” she said.
Siya and her fiancé, Ketan Agrawal, had visited Lohagad Fort on 18 June, when Ketan fell into a gorge and died. Police allege that Siya conspired with her boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, to murder Ketan. Both accused are in police custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Siya’s parents spoke to the media for the first time about this case on Thursday.
Mother says Siya was happy about the wedding
- Our family had high hopes for Siya and Ketan’s marriage. Ketan’s family welcomed Siya with love and affection, and all the wedding ceremonies were progressing smoothly.
- If Siya had faced any difficulties or was unable to speak to Ketan, she would have told us. She had willingly agreed to the marriage.
- We had no concerns about Ketan. Since the engagement, Siya spoke only to him. I do not believe she would have agreed to commit such a crime. However, if the investigation finds her guilty, she should receive the harshest punishment.
Father Praveen Goyal says Ketan took Siya to Lohagad Fort
- Siya herself asked me to arrange her marriage with Ketan. On the day of the incident, Ketan called Siya and invited her to Lohagad Fort. He also drove them there in his car.
- Ketan and Siya shared a close relationship and cared deeply for each other. On one occasion, Ketan even came to our house at 4 a.m. just to meet Siya.
Siya-Chetan met in a cafe before Ketan’s murder

One day before Ketan’s death, on June 17, Siya and Chetan went to a cafe located in Pune’s Kondhwa area.
According to police sources cited by IANS, accused Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, met at a café on 17 June, a day before Ketan’s death, where they allegedly planned to push him into a gorge at Lohagad Fort.
Police claim the pair had identified the exact spot from which Ketan was to be pushed. Investigators further allege that, had he survived, they had prepared a backup plan to kill him in a staged road accident after 20 June.
Police also allege that during a visit to Lohagad Fort on 31 May, Siya conceived the murder plot after seeing Ketan sitting near a dangerous edge. Investigators claim Ketan was first pushed on 14 June, but survived after Siya allegedly tried to pass the incident off as an accident by claiming she had seen a snake.

Police claim that both of them planned to push Ketan into the ditch at Lohagad Fort while at the cafe.
Siya and Chetan questioned face-to-face, each calling the other the mastermind
In the Ketan murder case, his fiancee Siya and Siya’s lover Chetan have been sent to 7-day police remand. According to the police, both were questioned face-to-face late Wednesday night.
Police sources said that during this time, the attitude of both of them completely changed. Chetan told the police that he wanted to elope with Siya, but Siya was not ready. Siya insisted on making the entire plan to remove Ketan from the way and murder him.
As soon as he said this, Siya counter-attacked Chetan. She said that the idea of murder was Chetan’s. When the first attempt to kill Ketan on June 14 failed, Chetan cried in front of her that his plan had failed. However, investigating officers say that this could be the defendants’ defense strategy. The police have sufficient evidence.

Siya and Ketan Agarwal got engaged in November 2025.
Idea to kill came on May 31, murder on June 18

May 31: Siya conceived a plan to murder Ketan
After their engagement on February 11, Ketan used to bring Siya home and take her out. He was fond of trekking, i.e., mountain climbing.
He asked Siya to go to Lohagad Fort for trekking. According to reports, when they reached the highest peak of the fort, it was here that Siya first conceived the plan to push Ketan off the cliff to get rid of him.
June 5: Insisted on going to the fort, Ketan did not go
On June 4, Sia again insisted Ketan to go to Lohagad Fort. Then Ketan’s family refused. On June 6, tickets were booked for Ketan, his sister, a friend, and Sia to go to Bali, Indonesia.
Everyone left to catch the flight. According to Pune Rural SP Sandeep Singh Gill, Sia had kept Ketan’s passport separately with her so that she wouldn’t have to go to Bali with him.
June 14: Second attempt, pushed, but Ketan survived
Sia again asked Ketan to go to the fort. She said that she liked that place. According to the police, both reached the fort on June 14. Sia pushed Ketan from behind at one spot. Ketan survived by getting support from a tree.
He asked – ‘Why did you push?’ Sia said, ‘There was a snake, I pushed you to save you from it.’ Ketan came home and told everyone that his life was saved because of Sia.
June 18: Pushed him with her boyfriend in the third attempt: Ketan had booked a luxury resort in Mahabaleshwar to celebrate Siya’s birthday on June 19. Before that, Siya convinced Ketan to go to Lohagad Fort, citing a pre-wedding photoshoot. This time, Chetan was also following them. At one spot, when Ketan was looking towards the hills, both of them pushed him from behind.
Three Clues; Siya’s lie, CCTV footage, 2004 calls

First Clue: Ketan’s sister became suspicious due to Siya’s demeanor
According to media reports, Siya visited Ketan’s family home on 21 June. When Ketan’s sister asked how he had fallen, Siya’s behaviour allegedly changed, and she was unable to give a clear answer.
Ketan’s sister reportedly became suspicious and told their father, Vishal Agarwal, that Ketan was an experienced trekker and his death could not have been an accident. She also said Siya’s responses raised further doubts.
Vishal Agarwal, who had already suspected that something was wrong, later approached Pune Police again and urged them to investigate Siya. He also informed officers that Siya was in contact with another man and requested that this angle be examined as part of the investigation.
Second clue: A boy wearing a hoodie in summer was seen in the fort’s CCTV footage

Police retrieved CCTV footage from Lohagarh Fort. In it, a person was seen several times around Ketan and Siya, who arrived there on June 18.
It was summer, and the fort had a climb, yet the footage from the fort’s stairs showed him wearing a hoodie. According to the police, the boy was trying to hide his face.
Third Clue: Siya’s more than 2000 calls to one number
Police examined Siya’s call records. On one mobile number, from January until 7 AM on the day of Ketan’s murder, Siya made 2004 calls, talking for about 338 hours, meaning they talked for about 2 hours in 11 calls daily.
This number belonged to Chetan Chaudhary, the son of another business family from Pune. Chetan’s house was in the same area of Pune where Siya’s father’s office is.
2 reasons for murder; claim – Siya was not ready for marriage
Siya was not ready for marriage: Police suspect that the main accused, Siya Goyal, was not mentally ready for marriage and was going to marry Ketan under family pressure. The police are investigating this aspect as one of the possible reasons for the murder.
Did not elope with lover due to fear of dishonor: Lover Chetan stated that Siya was not in favor of breaking off the engagement and eloping. She felt that it would bring dishonor to her family.

Pune Magistrate Court sent Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary to police custody till June 29 on June 22.
Siya’s dance, romance with fiance before murder; Pictures
Before Ketan’s murder, Siya had made several romantic posts with Ketan Agarwal (26) on her social media account. Sometimes pictures of proposals, sometimes moments expressing love with flowers, and sometimes videos of dancing and hugging.
Preparations for their wedding in November were also part of social media posts. After their engagement in February this year, Siya shared a picture of a cake on Instagram and wrote – It’s been a month since my heart found its home.

On May 19, Siya posted a birthday countdown story, in which both were seen dancing to a romantic song.
