Salman Khan has reportedly sent a legal notice regarding the upcoming film ‘Kala Hiran’. This claim has been made by News18 in its report.
The report stated that Salman Khan, through the law firm DSK Legal, has sent a legal notice to casting director Akshay Pandey. This notice demands an immediate halt to the production and promotion of the proposed film named ‘Kala Hiran’.
The notice, sent on April 24, 2026, states that Salman Khan’s blackbuck poaching case allegedly inspired the film. Salman’s legal team claims that this film could damage his image, affect ongoing legal proceedings, and violate his personal rights.
Salman’s legal team says that the actor has not given any permission for the use of his name, identity, or any alleged events associated with him.
Teaser was to be released on June 20
Notably, the poster of the film ‘Kala Hiran’, based on the blackbuck poaching case involving Salman, was released on Friday. It was also stated that the first look and teaser of the film would be released on June 20.
The film will depict the dispute between Salman and gangster Lawrence. However, information about who is in the lead role was not revealed. The actor seen in the poster is not well-known.

Story will show the Salman-Lawrence dispute
Talking to IANS about the film, the film’s producer Amit Jani had said, ‘In 1998, Salman Khan was accused of blackbuck poaching in Kankani village of Jodhpur. The courtroom drama, crime, thriller related to that case, and the enmity between Lawrence and Salman Khan have been presented in a cinematic form. The film has been shot in Sambhal, Moradabad and other cities of Uttar Pradesh.’

Blackbuck poaching case came to light in 1998
The blackbuck poaching case related to Salman Khan came to light in 1998, when he was shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’ in Jodhpur. A total of four cases were registered against Salman. These included two chinkara poaching cases, one Kankani blackbuck poaching case, and one Arms Act case.
On the complaint of the Bishnoi community in the blackbuck poaching case, cases were also registered against Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam along with Salman. In these cases, Salman Khan was arrested for the first time on October 12, 1998, although he was later granted bail.
In April 2006, Salman was sentenced in the chinkara poaching cases. In January 2017, he was acquitted in the Arms Act case. Meanwhile, on April 5, 2018, he was sentenced to 5 years in jail and a fine of 10 thousand rupees in the blackbuck poaching case. The other artists were acquitted in the same case.
Later, Salman was granted bail. Currently, this case is pending in the Rajasthan High Court. After the hearing in May 2026, the court has scheduled the next hearing for July 13, 2026. Salman Khan is currently out on bail.
Lawrence had expressed anger towards Salman
It is noteworthy that Lawrence Bishnoi has publicly stated that he is angry with Salman Khan over the blackbuck poaching case. In an interview given to ABP News from jail in 2023, he had said that killing Salman Khan is the aim of my life.
Meanwhile, in 2024, a firing took place outside Salman’s house (Galaxy Apartments), the responsibility for which was claimed by Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi, who is based abroad.
