Fire breaks out at Ministry of Education office in Delhi:8 fire tenders rushed to the spot; cause of blaze not yet determined

A fire broke out on the second floor of the Ministry of Education office located inside the campus of the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi’s ITO area on Monday morning, officials said.

According to the Delhi Fire Service, a call regarding the blaze was received at around 9:37 am, following which eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

No casualties have been reported so far. Firefighting operations are currently underway, and officials are working to bring the situation under control.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, authorities said.

A massive fire broke out at the Spark Minda auto parts factory in Noida’s Sector 59 on Saturday evening, triggering panic among employees. Thick smoke was visible from up to 4 km away.

Around 500-600 workers were inside the factory when the fire alarm sounded, and all were evacuated safely. Firefighters deployed 35 fire tenders to control the blaze, which spread due to stored chemicals and thinners.

29 May- Ex-CCI chief Dhanendra Kumar dies in Delhi house fire; AC blast suspected

Retired IAS officer and former Competition Commission of India chairman Dhanendra Kumar died after a fire broke out at his Hauz Khas residence in Delhi, reportedly due to a suspected air-conditioner blast.

The 80-year-old suffered severe smoke inhalation and later died at AIIMS Trauma Centre. His son remains hospitalised in critical condition. The fire, reported around 11:24 pm, spread across three floors and damaged household items and wooden windows.

Five people were inside the house at the time and were rescued. Police have ruled out foul play so far and are investigating the exact cause of the blaze. To read full news click here
