Singer Palash Muchhal is once again facing troubles after an FIR has been registered against him. Palash has been accused of casteist abuse and fraud.
Smriti Mandhana’s friend filed an FIR against Palash
Vigyan Mane, a childhood friend of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, has filed a police complaint against singer and composer Palash Muchhal, alleging caste-based abuse and financial fraud. The complaint comes after reports that Mandhana and Muchhal called off their wedding in December 2025.
What are the allegations against Palash Muchhal?
Vigyan, a 34-year-old resident of Sangli, claims that Muchhal took ₹25 lakh from him as an investment for a film project titled “Nazariya.” According to the complaint, Muchhal promised Mane a role in the film and assured him that the investment, along with profits, would be returned after the film’s release. However, Mane alleges that the film was never made.
In his complaint, Vigyan states that he repeatedly requested the return of his money, but Muchhal consistently delayed repayment. Eventually, Muchhal allegedly refused to return the money altogether, denying that he owed Mane anything. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to recover his investment, Mane approached the Sangli police and filed a formal complaint.
Vigyan further alleges that during a personal meeting to demand his money back, Muchhal used casteist slurs and behaved in a derogatory manner, insulting Mane’s caste identity. The alleged incident reportedly occurred on November 22, 2025, at a farmhouse in Sangli.
Police have confirmed that a case has been registered based on Mane’s complaint against Palash Rajkumar Muchhal, a 30-year-old resident of Mumbai. The charges include allegations of caste-based abuse and the use of offensive language.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandeep Bhagwat has confirmed that an investigation is currently underway. The investigation will focus on Mane’s allegations of an unpaid ₹25 lakh investment related to the “Nazariya” film project, as well as the claims of caste-based abuse during the meeting in Sangli. The case has been filed under the Atrocities Act, which deals with crimes and discrimination against marginalized communities.
Palash and Smriti Mandhana’s engagement was broken off
Earlier, Palash was also accused of cheating Smriti. Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were in a relationship for a long time. Both were engaged, and there was talk that they would tie the knot in Sangli in November 2025. However, their wedding was broken off a day before. And then both announced their separation on social media.
