Fire breaks out at private unit in Sanand GIDC, no casualties reported

A major fire broke out on Sunday at a private company in Sanand GIDC area of Ahmedabad, triggering panic in the vicinity.

The incident occurred at a Tata AutoComp Systems’ unit named IPD, located near Wonder Gate, where thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing across the industrial estate.

According to initial details, the blaze erupted suddenly and intensified quickly, engulfing stored parts and trolleys inside the premises within minutes. 

The fire continued to rage for over an hour before emergency teams could bring it under partial control.

Fire department teams rushed to the spot with at least two fire tenders and began dousing operations to prevent the fire from spreading further. After hours of effort, officials managed to contain the blaze. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported in the incident.

“A minor fire at our warehouse was promptly contained by trained response teams, with no injuries. The incident remained isolated from the main shop floor, and operations continued without disruption,” said the spokesperson for Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd.

“We are supporting authorities as they review the cause, while our safety protocols and personnel welfare remain paramount,” they added.
