Firing at Guru Randhawa’s gym in Delhi:2 attackers arrive on bike; Lawrence gang takes responsibility

Gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire outside a gym in Delhi’s West Vihar area early on Thursday. According to police sources, the gym is owned by two businessmen from Rajouri Garden in Delhi, while Punjabi singer Guru Randhawa is its brand ambassador.

No one was injured in the incident, but it created panic in the area. A social media post claiming responsibility for the attack has been linked to the Lawrence gang. Police have registered a case and started an investigation from all possible angles, including extortion, gang rivalry and personal enmity.

The attackers reportedly fired at least seven rounds at the gym before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the attack took place in the early hours when the gym was closed and no one was present inside. As a result, no casualties were reported.

The incident came to light at around 5:15 am when the gym’s caretaker arrived and noticed shattered glass and bullet marks. He immediately informed the police. Senior Delhi Police officers and local police teams soon reached the spot.

A forensic team was also called in to examine the scene. Experts collected empty cartridges and other evidence. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from around the gym and nearby escape routes to identify the attackers.

Investigators found that the fitness centre is owned by two businessmen from Rajouri Garden. Guru Randhawa, a well-known Punjabi singer, is associated with the gym as its brand ambassador. Because of this connection, the case is being treated seriously.

Shortly after the shooting, a social media post claiming responsibility for the attack began circulating online. The post was allegedly shared by the Anil Pandit group, which is linked to the Lawrence gang. Following the claim, police and security agencies increased their vigilance.

Investigation begins into extortion and rivalry angles

According to Delhi Police officials, several teams have been formed to investigate the case. Officers are examining whether the shooting was linked to an extortion attempt, gang rivalry or any personal dispute involving the gym owners. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and raids are being conducted to trace the suspects.
