Ten people were killed in a horrific road accident in Lakhimpur Kheri at around 7.30 am on Monday. A speeding truck collided head-on with a Magic vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Ten people, including two women, were travelling in the Magic vehicle.
The collision was so severe that the Magic vehicle was dragged nearly 10 feet before stopping. People sitting on the front and back seats suffered severe head injuries. One man’s face was completely crushed.
Several passengers got trapped between the seats, while two people were thrown out onto the road. Blood was scattered inside the vehicle and across the road. Panic and screams filled the area after the crash.

Local people rushed to the spot and informed the police. Rescue work began immediately. Police reached the scene and shifted one injured person to a nearby hospital.
Eyewitnesses said the Tata Magic vehicle was travelling from Lakhimpur towards Sisaiya when a truck coming from Bahraich crashed into it from the front. The truck was moving at high speed and suddenly went out of control. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.

Police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem. The accident took place near Adlishpur village on the Pilibhit-Basti Highway, around 40 km from the district headquarters.
