Was NEET-2025 also compromised?:2026 paper leak accused’s son bought paper last year for ₹25L, 5 kin cleared exam

Vikas Bival of Jamwaramgarh in Jaipur had allegedly purchased the NEET paper leaked last year for ₹25 lakh. By studying from it, Vikas and his four siblings cleared the exam and secured admission to government medical colleges.

The NEET-2025 paper was allegedly sold to Vikas by Yash Yadav of Gurugram. This has been revealed during the CBI investigation. Notably, the NEET-2026 paper was also allegedly purchased by Vikas from Yash Yadav.

In both last year’s and this year’s papers leak, Vikas’ father, Mangilal Bival and uncle Dinesh Bival were allegedly involved. The CBI has arrested all four accused.

From average scores to government colleges

Bhaskar’s investigation revealed that all five siblings had been average students academically. They had appeared for NEET-2024, but none had scored enough marks to secure admission in a government college. However, after allegedly obtaining the leaked paper in 2025, all of them scored above the 98 percentile without any coaching.

In fact, Yash and Vikas had studied together at a NEET coaching institute in Sikar, where they became close friends. About a month before the May 4, 2025, exam, Yash allegedly told Vikas that he could arrange the paper.

When Vikas informed his father, Mangilal and uncle Dinesh that the paper could be obtained before the exam, they agreed to purchase it. The deal was allegedly finalised for ₹25 lakh. Three days before the exam, Yash allegedly handed over the paper to Vikas.

Vikas, along with his real sister Pragati and cousins Sania, Gunjan, and Palak, memorised the paper together. When the results were declared on May 14, 2025, all five siblings secured selection with good ranks and got admission into government medical colleges.

  • Vikas scored 63% in Class 10 and 55% in Class 12. In NEET-2024, he scored only 270 out of 720 marks. He appeared in 46 tests at a coaching institute in Sikar, where his average score remained around 384.
  • In NEET-2025, he secured an 85.11 percentile score and got admission to the government medical college in Sawai Madhopur.

Pragati scored 332 in NEET-2024, with a similar performance in coaching tests

  • Pragati scored 69% in Class 10 and 91% in Class 12. In NEET-2024, she scored just 332 out of 720 marks. She appeared in 46 coaching tests in Sikar, where her average score remained around 302.
  • In NEET-2025, she secured an 89.08 percentile score and got admission to a government medical college in Dausa.

Gunjan scored 355 in NEET-2024, coaching scores also average

  • She appeared in 50 coaching tests in Sikar, where her average score ranged between 515 and 550. In NEET-2025, she secured a 98.61 percentile score and got admission to a government medical college in Jaipur.

Paper allegedly bought for cousin this time

This year, the leaked paper was allegedly arranged for Vikas’ cousin Rishi Bival. Rishi had passed Class 12 with grace marks and scored only 50%. In Class 10, his percentage was just 43.67%.

Had the paper leak not been exposed, there was every possibility that Rishi too would have secured a good rank and admission into a government medical college.

CBI seizes documents from house

In the NEET paper leak case, the CBI on Thursday produced accused Shubham Khairnar, Yash Yadav, Mangilal, Vikas, and Dinesh before a Delhi CBI court. The court sent all five accused to 7-day remand.

Meanwhile, a CBI team searched Dinesh Bival’s house in Jamwaramgarh. The team recovered suspicious banking documents and NEET-series papers.

Earlier, when the team reached Dinesh Bival’s residence around 2 PM, family members allegedly locked the gates. The CBI team then entered through a neighbouring house.

Probe expands beyond house

The investigation was not limited to the rooms of the house. The team also raided the accused’s farmhouse and inspected two luxury vehicles parked there. Several suspicious documents recovered from the vehicles and farmhouse have been seized.

The agency suspects that black money earned from the paper leak may have been invested in these properties. The recovered documents include cheque books, passbooks, and ATM cards, indicating transactions worth crores of rupees.
