A minor schoolgirl in Kolkata has allegedly been kidnapped, drugged with sedative-laced chocolate and gang-raped, following which an obscene video of her was allegedly recorded to threaten and silence her.
Schoolgirl allegedly offered lift in Behala
According to police sources, Sarsuna Police Station has registered a case under Sections 123, 351(2), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 4, 6 and 10 of the POCSO Act.
Sedative mixed chocolate allegedly used inside
The complaint, filed by the girl’s mother, alleged that the incident took place between April 17 and 18 in the Behala area of Kolkata. The minor was reportedly approached and offered a lift in a car where two unidentified men and one of her school friends were already present.
Gang rape allegations trigger police investigation
The family alleged that after entering the vehicle, the girl was offered chocolate mixed with sedatives, causing her to lose consciousness. She was then allegedly taken to an unknown location where the accused sexually assaulted her.
Obscene video allegedly recorded for blackmail
According to the complaint, the accused also recorded an obscene video of the victim and threatened her with serious consequences if she approached the police. Due to severe trauma and fear, the family could not immediately file an FIR.
Police tracing accused vehicle and location
Police said an investigation is underway to identify and trace the accused, verify the alleged involvement of the school friend, identify the vehicle used and locate the place where the alleged assault took place. Statements of witnesses have already been recorded, officials said.
