Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured a thrilling 9-run victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a last-over contest at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. After winning the toss, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar chose to bowl first. Due to rain interruption, the match was reduced to a 19-overs-a-side contest.
Mitchell Marsh starred with a stunning 111-run knock, smashing the fastest century for LSG and putting RCB bowlers under pressure throughout the innings. A quick unbeaten cameo of 32 off just 10 balls from Rishabh Pant powered Lucknow to 209/3. As per the DLS method, RCB were given a revised target of 213 runs.

1) Krunal Pandya & Nicholas Pooran involved in a heated argument
The tense moment unfolded during the 10th over of the clash between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru when Krunal Pandya came on to bowl against Arshin Kulkarni. Pandya struck immediately, dismissing Kulkarni on the very next delivery before Nicholas Pooran walked in to bat.

Pandya greeted Pooran with a sharp 118 kph bouncer, setting the tone for an intense battle. After Pooran took a quick single on the following ball, a heated exchange took place between the two players. In the second over of Lucknow’s innings, Mitchell Marsh hit two sixes off Josh Hazlewood’s ball. His second six hit the head of a cameraman present at the boundary. However, the injury was not serious.

Mitchell Marsh received a standing ovation as he walked back to the pavilion after his brilliant century. Even RCB legend Virat Kohli patting Marsh on the back in appreciation after his 111-run knock. 5) Match stopped three times due to rain
The match had to be stopped three times during the first innings due to rain. The first time it rained was in the second over and the match was halted for about 10 minutes. After that, it rained again in Lucknow after the 9th over and play had to be stopped. After the 14th over, it started raining again and the match was halted for about half an hour.
6) Bat slipped from Pant’s hands, but got a boundary too
On the third ball of the 17th over, the bat slipped from Rishabh Pant’s hands. However, he got a boundary on this ball. Hazlewood’s yorker was outside the off stump, on which Pant played a powerful shot. The ball went towards point for a boundary, but during the shot his bat slipped from his hand and fell on the leg side.

1) Mitchell Marsh scored fastest century for Lucknow
Lucknow batter Mitchell Marsh scored the fastest century for the team in the match against Bengaluru. He completed the century in just 49 balls at Ekana Stadium on Thursday. Earlier, this record was in the name of Rishabh Pant. He had scored a century in 54 balls last year.
2) Bhuvneshwar Kumar becomes first pacer to play 200 IPL matches
Bengaluru’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become the first fast bowler to play 200 IPL matches. He achieved this milestone against Lucknow. Bhuvneshwar became the 12th player overall to play 200 matches. Earlier, on April 5, he had become the second bowler after Yuzvendra Chahal and the first fast bowler to take 200 wickets in IPL.
