The film ‘Raja Shivaji’, directed by Riteish Deshmukh, has crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the box office. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the film was released in both Marathi and Hindi languages.
However, on the fifth day of its release (Tuesday), the film’s earnings saw a slight dip. According to Sacnilk’s report, on Tuesday, the film collected approximately ₹3.35 crore net in its Marathi version. This is about 20.4% less than Monday.
Talking about the film’s total net collection so far, it has reached ₹44 crore. The Marathi version’s contribution is the highest at ₹30.5 crore.

Benefiting from Word-of-Mouth The film’s India gross collection has now crossed ₹52.68 crore. The Hindi version had a slightly slower start compared to the Marathi one, but due to reviews and word-of-mouth, the film’s earnings are increasing in the Hindi belt as well. With this collection, ‘Raja Shivaji’ has joined the list of the top-5 highest-grossing Marathi films to date.
Demand to make tax-free in Maharashtra Amidst the success of the film, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve has raised a demand to make it tax-free in Maharashtra. Danve has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stating that this film brings the great deeds of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj to the youth and the public. He demanded that the film be made tax-free so that tickets become cheaper and more people can watch it in cinemas.

The film has a big star cast In this film, released on May 1st, Riteish Deshmukh not only played the lead role but also directed it himself. Big stars like Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree, and Genelia Deshmukh have appeared in important roles in the film. Besides them, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, and Amol Gupte have also played significant roles in the film.
