In the recent by-elections for the Thane and Pissurlem Gram Panchayats, candidates from both wards were elected unopposed. The announcement was made by Sattari Mamlatdar and Returning Officer Dhirendra Banawalikar.

According to official information, the by-election in Ward No. 1 of Thane Gram Panchayat was necessitated following the resignation of Nilesh Parwar. Vishwanath Dattaram Parwar was the only candidate to file a nomination and was therefore declared elected unopposed.
