Shriram Care Hospital accused of negligence, police sent the body for postmortem

There was a huge uproar on Friday after the death of a Civil Police constable during treatment at Shri Ram Care Hospital in Nehru Nagar of the city. The family members accused the hospital management of negligence and created a ruckus. This made the situation tense and the police had to intervene. At present, the police have taken the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem.
Deceased constable Satya Kumar Patle was posted at Sarkanda police station. He was originally a resident of village Parsahi. Was admitted in the hospital for the last 10 days due to kidney stone problem. According to the information, a 10 mm stone was removed from his stomach through an operation on Thursday. However, he had to be readmitted due to infection within 24 hours of the operation.

The family alleges that the doctors were negligent during the treatment and despite repeated demands for referral to another hospital, it was not done. As soon as the news of the constable’s death was received, the family members became angry and started creating ruckus in the hospital premises. When the situation worsened, Civil Line Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Sarpanch Meghnath Khandekar of Ermasahi, uncle of the deceased, said that initially the doctors had declared the stone to be 7 mm, but later it was 10 mm and advised immediate operation. He also alleged that the situation was not kept clear during the treatment and many doubts remained.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Patel said that a case has been established and further action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report. He said that the actual cause of death would be revealed only after investigation.
