Believe it or not, a half marathon called the “Run for Nutrition” was successfully held in Mizoram. The race was held on April 18, 2026, as part of the eighth Nutrition Fortnight, an ongoing effort to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
Around 500 adults and children enthusiastically participated in the event, reflecting strong community engagement towards nutrition and health.
The marathon aimed to raise awareness among citizens about the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and inculcating healthy habits from childhood. Participants from different age groups came together to spread the message of “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind,” highlighting the importance of nutrition in holistic development.
This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to combating malnutrition and promoting a holistic approach to health through community activities. Such events play a vital role in encouraging behavior change among the public and fostering a culture of fitness and nutrition awareness.
