South film star Ram Charan had arrived in Bhopal for the music launch of his upcoming film ‘Peddi’. AR Rahman and Janhvi Kapoor were also present with him at this event. During the conversation, Ram Charan praised Indian cricketers, but made a mistake while mentioning fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.
He mistakenly associated him with football instead of cricket. After the video surfaced, Ram Charan immediately apologised to Bumrah, calling it a mistake made in the excitement of the crowd. During the event, he also referred to Madhya Pradesh as Bihar. When he was addressing the public from the stage, he said, ‘Our people of Bihar, people of Bihar, are you with me?’
A rapid-fire round took place with Ram Charan during the event.
Janhvi Kapoor and Divyendu Sharma were also present at the event.
Called cricketers ‘legend’ and ‘fire’
During this event held in Bhopal, Ram Charan was asked to describe Indian cricketers in a few words. He described Sachin Tendulkar’s career as ‘a long and great journey’. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was called ‘calm and cool’, while Rohit Sharma was described as ‘everyone’s favorite person’. When Virat Kohli’s name came up, he simply said one word: ‘Fire’.
Apologised, called himself forgetful After the video surfaced, Ram Charan shared a post on social media platform X and apologised to Bumrah. He wrote, “Uff… I sometimes forget things about names. I apologise to Jasprit Bumrah ji for this mess. Amidst so much enthusiasm and a huge crowd, it was just a human error.” Ram Charan further wrote that he respects Bumrah a lot and appreciates his game.
However, after this mistake by Ram Charan, many of his fans were seen supporting him. One user wrote, “Ram Charan made Bumrah a football legend. But I liked the confidence with which he said it.”
